BASE REQUIREMENTS
You will require a suitable base.
Your base needs to be SOLID, FLAT, and LEVEL with a tolerance of +/-10mm across its length and/or width
and of the given size at the time of order.
PAYMENT
Payment must be made in full in cleared funds as stated on the invoice supplied, before ASSEMBLY COMMENCES (this can be when the fitters arrive on site and before the building is erected. Failure to make payment in full cleared funds will result in your building not being erected. Customers are not permitted to hold any payments back for any reason.
We do not accept Cheques, Bankers Draft or Printed Building Society Cheques.
All our buildings are made bespoke for the client.
Deposits are non-refundable once components have been ordered/work started on your project. This usually starts within 48 hours of your order being placed. This is because all deposits are allocated to your building which is made to your requirements and specifications.
Garden buildings are NOT generic and every customer is different.
When EGB fitters arrive on site they will check the base. If we find the base is not suitable in any way, we will discuss this with you and the issues and what detriment this could mean to the building. At this point you will be asked to sign a revised set of Terms and Conditions whereby relinquishing EGB from any structural complications due to the building being fitted on an insufficient base.
If you don’t agree to the revised Terms and Conditions the job will be aborted and there will be a charge for the delay and return on another date once the problems have been rectified. *
EGB do not advise on the suitability of any base regarding its ability to support the building without ground movement. We do not check the integrity of the base. Any problems with the build that arise from inadequate support from the base are the responsibility of the customer.
DELIVER TIMES AND DATES
We will always try to deliver/install, within the ‘Estimated timeframe' given. We will arrange a delivery/install date with you, usually at the time of received deposits. In the unlikely event that your delivery/install is delayed, we will rearrange your delivery/install date within a reasonable period.
Delivery lead times are shown in working days (Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays) Once a delivery date has been confirmed, this may change due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control ie weather conditions, strikes, works breakdown, transport breakdown ,shortage of materials, staff shortages etc,
We cover the majority of England and Wales and some of Scotland. We give approximate arrival times for the day of delivery/install. These are not guaranteed times.
Should we arrive to deliver/install your building, and no-one is present, we will try to contact you by phone then txt or email.
If after 30 mins from the time of arrival, no one has returned/replied, it is at the discretion of the delivery/fitting team to leave the site and an attempted delivery/installation fee will be charged at a min £500 (variable dependent on your location) to cover the cost of the attempted delivery.
It is the customers responsibility to inform EGB of any access difficulties. We usually deliver with a trailer and a pickup style truck (total length around 12 meters).
Our units weigh between 1500kg and 4000kg. If we try to deliver, using this vehicle, and cannot do so due to foreseeable problems such as access restrictions, width of road etc. then we will charge you an attempted delivery/installation fee, unless you have given us prior written notice that this type of vehicle will not be capable of delivering to your site.
We require that you provide legal parking facilities for all our vehicles for the period required to carry out the delivery/fitting. If roadside parking is chargeable, it is the responsibility of the Customer to provide parking permits or pay for parking as necessary.
We will manually carry the goods up to 100m from the delivery vehicle (safely parked at kerbside) onto your property providing that access is:
Clear access route must be available for our delivery/install team to carry the goods from the kerbside to where you wish them to be placed. The access must be at least 800mm wide, free from obstructions and allow safe footing by the delivery/install team.
You must inform us of any trip hazards, steep inclines, or declines. Damage to lawns, flower beds etc. on or next to a narrow or difficult access route will be the responsibility of the Customer. We do not carry items through a customer’s neighbours garden or property.
We do not carry items through a customer’s houses. We can carry items through an outbuilding as long as it is safe and possible to do so. It is the customers responsibility to remove anything from the outbuilding that could be damaged by pieces of the unit that are carried through. If the only route available is to carry the items through a customer’s decorated building you must make us aware of this so that we can manufacture the goods in smaller pieces (at no extra cost).
PRODUCT MAINTENANCE GUARANTEE
Timber is a natural product and prone to changes in appearance, including some movement and the occurrence of small knot holes or splits in extreme temperatures and weather conditions. Any splits, knots or similar visual imperfections in the timber will not affect the structural integrity of the product in any way, are not considered to be damage, and do not render the product unfit for purpose. Whilst every effort is made to hand pick timber without visible knotholes or splits there may be occasions where timber is selected in good faith that contains what appears to be a solid knot. Over the course of time/during movement of the product etc it may occur that these small knot holes are then dislodged from the timber leaving a small knot or crack.
Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for this maturing of the product and can only offer our best advice as how to deal with this situation in the unlikely event that it should occur. When measuring timber for the purpose of technical information the absolute external dimensions will be taken from a sample piece of each component used – it should be noted that due to the complex nature of the product and machining processes that this figure will give an average measurement that could be subject to slight variance throughout the rest of the individual boards in the pack measured. Whilst every effort will be made to select only components which match the average advertised sizing this is subject to the availability of the timber that has been machined and cannot be guaranteed.
PLANNING
All our buildings are designed such that planning permission and building regulations are, in the main, not required. Please note that compliance is the responsibility of the customer, and to this end we advise you contact your local authority as regulations can vary across the country
ADDITIONAL COSTS
If the weather stops the installation process, we may leave site and return at a later date to complete the work. In these circumstances any additional time taken will be at EGB cost.
If we are unable to start or must leave site for any reason through a breach of terms by the customer (base problems, bad access, etc) all reasonable applicable costs incurred by us will be charged to the customer, and payment will be required before we reschedule the work.
The minimum charge will be £550 (variable dependent on your location) ((This doesn't even cover the true cost of lost time, fuel and labour))
WARRANTY
Any modifications/removal of materials, construction and build which results in structural defects will null and void any warranty, customers must contact EGB for advice or a return visit within 2 weeks of the building being installed wo we can advise or assist.
DO NOT make changes to your building if a defect should occur.
All buildings come with a 12 month structural warranty.
